What you need for your NLMM online practice session

We use Zoom to connect for our online practice sessions. You will receive the link to the free Zoom session via email.

  • Download or update Zoom prior to connecting for class, we recommend giving yourself at least 15 minutes to do this if you’re doing it right before class, we don’t want you to miss anything. Do you have technical questions about Zoom, here’s their support platform for help: https://support.zoom.us/hc/

  • Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early so we can start promptly and to account for any possible connection troubleshooting.

  • Note that I will begin promptly at the allocated time given.

  • Make sure you have access to audio/sound.

  • Set up a quiet, private area for practice

  • Grab your yoga mat or something similar (a blanket will work)

  • Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in

  • Have a blanket ready for the integration period at the end of the class

FAQ

1. Is this practice session interactive?
No, this is a guided movement experience. You’ll be listening and moving on your own. There’s no talking or sharing during the session.

2. Do I have to have my camera on?
No, your camera can be off. You’re encouraged to create a private, distraction-free space for yourself. Although it is nice for me to see faces at the beginning of each session, it is not necessary.

3. Do I need experience with NLMM or any movement practice?
No experience is necessary. NLMM is accessible for all bodies and can be adapted to your comfort level - listen to your own body.

4. What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable that allows free movement. Layers can be helpful as your body temperature may change.

5. Do I need any equipment?
Yes - you need access to updated version of zoom, ability to hear audio (participants share that audio through a speaker or airpods works best for music) a mat or blanket to practice on

6. How long is the practice session?
Each one is 60 minutes, including a brief introduction and closing.

7. Will there be a recording?
No, this is a live experience to be fully present in the moment.

8. Can I join if I’m pregnant or have injuries?
Yes, NLMM is adaptable. Move in a way that feels safe and supportive for your body. Listen to yourself and modify as needed.
